The mayor of the town of Rivadavia, in Mendoza, suffered a
fierce attack by a municipal employee
.
It happened after they informed the worker that their contract was not going to be renewed.
Around 12 this Friday, the municipality of Rivadavia experienced moments of tension.
These are one of the 18 departments that make up the province of Mendoza, whose main city has 27 thousand inhabitants.
The conflict was triggered when Lucio Gutiérrez, the Secretary of Government, informed the employee - whose identity was not revealed - that
as of January 31 he would be unemployed.
The worker did not take the news well.
He first argued with the official and it quickly came to blows.
The mayor, Ricardo Mansur, approached to try to calm things down.
He tried to separate them, but received a push from the dismissed young man, causing him to fall to the floor.
On the ground he was kicked in the ribs.
The communal chief
tried to minimize the episode
.
"When I was leaving he found me, he pushed me, I fell, but he didn't hit me or anything like that. He kicked me when I was on the floor but it didn't go any further," he said in conversation with
Los Andes
.
Gutiérrez, on the other hand, received several blows and had to be assisted by the municipality's doctor.
None of the participants suffered serious injuries.
After attacking the two members of the local government, when the attacker left, he threw a municipal computer to the floor.
The man was detained.
The non-renewal of the employee takes place in the middle of a review of the municipal plant in a hot transition of authorities.
The thing is that Mansur, a former member of the UCR and now with his own local force, shot his predecessor, Miguel Ronco.
According to
Los Andes
, the current mayor criticized Ronco for almost empty coffers: he assured that as of December 31 there were only 57 million pesos available.
In addition, he publicly denounced the delivery of "only some documents" and the emptying of computers.
From the previous administration they came out to deny his accusations.
The reasons for dismissal
In a series of audios that went viral, a witness said that the fired worker never went to work, which would have led to his dismissal.
"He's a kid who never came, from the technology, modernization part.
Lucio
called him to tell him that they were not going to renew the contract and he screwed up," can be heard in a viral audio sent by a alleged municipal employee who witnessed the incident.
Furthermore, in the audio the witness says that there was a large police deployment in front of the municipality as a result of the incident.
