Baden-Württemberg - After the fatal knife attack on a student (18) at the Löwenrot-Gymnasium in St. Leon-Rot, the district court decides on the arrest warrant against the suspect:
Update from January 26th, 2:10 p.m
.: At the request of the Heidelberg public prosecutor's office, the Heidelberg district court issued an arrest warrant for murder on Friday (January 26th) against the 18-year-old man, who is a strong suspect, the day before the 18-year-old student to have stabbed to death in the Löwenrot High School.
The suspect, who is a German citizen, was taken directly to a correctional facility after being presented to the magistrate.
The investigators provide new details: A knife is said to have been seized in the accused's crashed getaway vehicle - presumably the murder weapon.

According to previous findings, the perpetrator and victim were temporarily in a relationship in 2023 - but no longer at the time of the crime.
As far as the suspicion of previous intentional bodily harm to the detriment of those now killed at the end of November 2023 is concerned, according to current knowledge, they had not obtained a court order under the Violence Protection Act.
However, on the occasion of the criminal complaint filed by the injured party, the police, in addition to questioning witnesses and the accused, made so-called threats to the person a few days after the incident and in mid-December 2023.
The police also contacted the youth welfare office and the school management.
According to local findings, the school has taken measures to limit contact during school operations.

.: While the people in tranquil St. Leon-Rot are in a kind of state of shock, the school management of the Löwenrot-Gymnasium has not yet commented on the terrible bloody act the day before.

Will suspect (18) be taken into custody today on suspicion of murder?

.: On Friday, the day after the fatal knife attack on a student (18) at the Löwenrot-Gymnasium, the urgent suspect (18) is to be brought before the judge at the Heidelberg district court.
This has not yet happened, according to First Public Prosecutor Jonathan Waldschmidt when asked by HEIDELBERG24 (as of 11:20 a.m.).
The public prosecutor's office wants to obtain an arrest warrant - presumably on suspicion of murder.
The victim's ex-boyfriend, who was injured in a car accident during his daring escape to Lower Saxony, will be there in person.

.: The shock after the bloody act at the Löwenrot High School in St. Leon-Rot (Baden-Württemberg) with a dead person is still deep.
On Thursday (January 25th) a student (18) was stabbed with a knife.
But how does the responsible district court in Heidelberg assess the terrible act?
Will the urgent suspect (18) be taken into custody this Friday (January 26th) on suspicion of murder?

As a classmate at the private school explained, the victim was the ex-girlfriend of the alleged stabber.
The investigators also assume that it was a relationship act, a spokesman for the Mannheim police headquarters told HEIDELBERG24.

The accused is said to have apologized during class by saying that he wasn't doing well.
Under this pretext he then looked for his ex-girlfriend and stabbed her in the neck with the knife.
All attempts to resuscitate the seriously injured woman failed.

The alleged perpetrator is said to have beaten the current victim in the past - so the teenager only filed a criminal complaint for physical violence against the current accused in November 2023, as

Student (18) killed in St. Leon-Rot – serious accident stops suspect (18)
After escaping for hours by car, the 18-year-old suspect was arrested around 300 kilometers from the crime scene in Seesen (Lower Saxony).
Only a serious accident stopped the chase, which involved around a dozen police cars.
The accused was injured.

After the terrible events in St. Leon-Rot, Mayor Dr.
Alexander Eger (FDP) told HEIDELBERG24 in dismay: “The violent death of the student at Löwenrot-Gymnasium is shocking to all of us, a horrific act that leaves all of us in the community stunned.
Our deepest condolences go out to the girl’s relatives and the school community at Löwenrot-Gymnasium.”
The day after the bloody crime, there will be no classes at the Löwenrot High School on Friday - the shock is too great and the grief is too deep for everyone affected.
The high school's website is not accessible and appears to be disabled.
