It is a product that many women apply to their face daily.
So do some men.
Which pushes you to be very demanding with regard to your composition.
In its special issue devoted to food and health, published last August, the magazine
60 millions de Consommateurs
looked at numerous categories of beauty products.
And the foundation was of course put to the test too.
As the magazine reminds us, the latter has developed enormously with, in particular, an ever-richer range of colors to be able to satisfy all skin tones, driven by brands like Rihanna's Fenty.
But also, based on ever more attractive promises: second skin, zero defects, infallible outfit... The slogans are selling but the choice always remains difficult.
If, to find the right texture and the ideal shade, we can rely on the advice of experts and in-store advisors, it remains important to analyze the list of components.
Indeed, like many beauty products, certain foundations can pose problems either for the skin or for the planet.
The magazine also points out the presence of silicones, a petroleum derivative, some of which are really controversial, such as cyclopentasiloxane and cyclohexasiloxane, which are suspected of being endocrine disruptors.
So many elements which lead two foundations to obtain a red card: the Aqua Complete from Biocura Make-Up (the Aldi brand) and the Woke Up Like This from Il Makiage.
For the first, the magazine highlights the presence of two parabens suspected of being endocrine disruptors, but also an allergenic preservative (phenoxyethanol) and polluting silicones.
For the second, the magazine even talks about a composition close to that of a pot of paint: around ten silicones, pigments, synthetic polymers, the same allergenic preservative as the model sold at Aldi, perfume and two filters UV rays suspected of being endocrine disruptors.
Faced with these poor performers, two foundations stand out: Avril foundation with organic Jojoba oil available in twelve shades and certified organic Cosmos Organic.
And the latest from Guerlain, Terracotta Le Teint, with its composition of 95% ingredients of natural origin including a cocktail of vegetable oils.
To try for those who want to put on makeup with peace of mind.
