 Precisely on Remembrance Day, Bruno Segre, lawyer, journalist and partisan with the name of 'Elio' in the formations that participated in the liberation of Caraglio and Cuneo, died in Turin at the age of 105.

Born in Turin on 4 September 1918, he graduated in law in 1940, but, due to the racial laws, he was unable to practice the profession of lawyer because he was the son of a Jewish parent.


 Arrested in 1942 and detained for a few months in Turin's Nuove prison, in 1944 he was imprisoned again in the barracks in via Asti, in Turin, home of the political investigative office of the National Republican Guard.

He was also a city councilor of Turin, group leader of the Socialist Party, from 1975 to 1980. Among his many political and legal battles for civil rights, the one in favor of the divorce law for which he rented a plane to launch thousands of posters of propaganda about the city.
