Bad Reichenhall - On Friday morning, January 26, 2024, around 10 a.m., two hunting friends, a 49-year-old from Hesse and a 30-year-old from Lower Saxony, went on a hunting expedition on Fuderheuberg.

However, this ended in tragedy.

Hunting trip in the Alps ends in fatal drama: 49-year-old falls

After a four-hour stay at Fuderheuberg, the 49-year-old hunter managed to kill a chamois, but it slipped about 50 meters into a gully.

The man from Hesse dared to descend into the steep terrain to reach the killed animal, but fell.

Despite his fall, he was still able to make an emergency call around 3 p.m.

The Bad Reichenhall mountain rescue service was immediately alerted and the rescue helicopter Christoph 14 was called in and was able to be precisely directed to the scene of the accident by the 30-year-old companion.

However, when the rescue team arrived, the emergency doctor could only determine that the 49-year-old was dead.

He fell about 60 meters into a rocky area interspersed with trees and only came to rest after about 200 meters.

He suffered fatal injuries.
