The veteran TV presenter filed the request for the inability of her partner Mavis to realize her estate • What is the reason for this?

The American TV host Jay Leno filed last Friday a request to the court in Los Angeles to become the guardian of his wife's estate.

The application he submitted to us states that his wife of 43 years Mavis (77) does not have the ability to implement the estate plan and this is due to significant neurological disorders from which she suffers, including dementia.

In the documents he submitted, he detailed to us (73) the happy 43-year marriage of the two, but emphasized that he was the one who always managed all the financial affairs of the two.

Now that her health has deteriorated and she is no longer fit to make decisions, he wants to make sure that her assets will be managed in a way that will ensure the care she had and he will pass away before her.

"Jay is perfectly capable of continuing to provide Mavis with physical and financial support just as he has throughout their marriage," the court documents state.

"He aims to implement the estate plan, including a revocable fund and a will, which will take care of Mavis and her brother, her only heir besides him."

It was also stated that "Mavis gave her consent to the guardianship of her estate and the appointment of Jay as her guardian and did not express a preference for the appointment of another person in his place", and that Leno requested that she not be obliged to attend the hearing that will reportedly take place in April, as it could be destructive to her physical and mental health.
