There is indeed a controversy raised by our neighbors but, as a sovereign country, we know perfectly well where our borders are.
Their route was fixed in 1899, by a complete and integral agreement.
Our two countries participated in their marking, as well as the tripartite junction between Guyana, Venezuela and Brazil.
All our regional partners, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the international community know that this issue has been resolved, although Venezuela, when we were on the verge of independence, again raised controversy.
We have gone through all the mechanisms to resolve this issue.
And as a country founded on the rules of law, respectful of the rule of law and democratic values and principles, we took this case to the International Court…
