Wolfratshausen – The Weidach Volunteer Fire Department has been carrying out extensive operations since 1874.
The 150th anniversary and the official inauguration of the tool house will be celebrated on July 20th and 21st.
At the annual general meeting in the Flößerei inn, club chairman Franz Kerschbaumer handed over his office to Christian Pachner, who was elected by the members without a dissenting vote.
He receives support from the club's second chairman Jonas Hummel as well as the secretary Anna Hauptenbuchner and treasurer Christoph Reindl.
Robert Buxbaum remains the first commander.
He is supported by second commander Lukas Kerschbaumer, who replaces Christian Lambl.
Andreas Mörwald takes over the position of shop steward.
Floriansjünger were deployed around 600 times
Before the secret elections, Commander Robert Buxbaum looked back on a total of 49 missions, which last year required around 600 hours of operation.
In addition, there were around 750 hours to complete 35 exercises.
The fire department invested even more time in expanding the equipment shed, which the members largely did themselves.
“Operations will gradually begin there at the end of January,” announced Buxbaum.
“Most striking fire at a car dealership”
Thanks to the support of the Wolfratshausen and Geretsried fire departments, the Weidachers managed to extinguish the “most striking fire of the year” in the Gerb car dealership on Geltinger Strasse on March 8th.
“Due to the enormous heat development and the associated risk of collapse of the steel structure, the interior attack that had initially been launched had to be stopped,” recalled Buxbaum.
On the other hand, traffic security during festivals and accidents, opening of apartments and technical assistance were comparatively uneventful.
Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner was accordingly impressed.
“You're doing a great job: I'm just wondering where you find the time for it,” praised the fire department manager.
District fire inspector Robert Schmid described the Weidach fire department as an “important building block of the city”.
He was impressed by the intact club life.
Previously, the outgoing secretary Günther Schmitter reported on a successful Isar-Loisach raft trip and participation in the Weidach Advent fire Christmas market.
The number of members remained constant: the 56 active members also include ten young people between the ages of twelve and 17.
Homage within our own ranks
Commander Robert Buxbaum, together with Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner, honored the three emergency services Johannes Eckert, Lorenz Erhard and Robert Heinrich for their ten years of active service.
In addition, Julius Jacoby, Josef Obermaier and Alexander Strauß were appointed “operations group leaders”.
Max Hauptenbuchner heads the radio department.
Chief extinguisher Christian Lambl and extinguisher Alexander Strauss rose to the management rank.
Alois Huber, Andreas Mörwald and Florian Zürnstein were pleased about their promotion to senior fireman.
They are supported by the new firefighters Andreas Janzon, Maximilian Strauß and Finn Toppe.
Fire brigade candidates are Josef Elas, Annemarie Hofer, Alexander Piekarski and Jakob Stroehl.
