"One drop in two is lost in aqueducts, 66% of surface water and 26% of underground water do not reach minimum quality standards.

But digital transformation can play a fundamental role in the management of water resources through reuse, recycling, desalination , leak repair, monitoring and smart management".

This was revealed by the Foundation for digital sustainability when presenting its new strategic plan to the Chamber which provides for the creation of four working groups on water, inclusion, mobility and health.

We start from the water resource.

The Foundation, defining the situation as "worrying", underlines how "there are peaks in water deficits of up to 60% in the South and 20% of water resources are decreasing by 20% due to climate change".

"The objective is to involve more and more players in the sector, broadening the composition of the group, to launch concrete initiatives in a participatory way", explained the president of the Foundation for digital sustainability, Stefano Epifani.

"Without a process of sustainable management of water resources, from collection to distribution and purification, it is not possible to pursue sustainable development and digital technologies are an unavoidable lever to implement it", he underlined.

The next initiative will be the "Sustainable water" conference on the role of digital transformation in the life cycle of water, which will be held in Milan on March 4th, at the headquarters of the Cap group.
