“It took long discussions”: redeveloping the street along the Élysée in Paris, a real headache

But rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré (8th arrondissement), which houses the Élysée palace and several embassies – including the residence of the United States ambassador – is also at the heart of enormous security issues.

The attack on Thursday evening on a policewoman in front of the Ministry of the Interior, Place Beauvau, was a reminder of the ultra-sensitive nature of the area.

The Faubourg Saint-Honoré committee quickly noted this by submitting its redevelopment project to the City, presented Thursday during the Paris Council.
