Fürstenfeldbruck – Relaxed yoga, learning a new language or perhaps a creative photography course?
The offerings at adult education centers are diverse and cover a wide spectrum.
And of course the selection of courses must always be adapted and revised.
Now the new program of the vhs association Stadt Land Bruck is starting.
Fürstenfeldbruck, Maisach and Mammendorf joined together to form the association two years ago.
All three adult education centers remain legally independent, but maintain cooperation in individual areas in order to increase the benefits for course leaders and participants and to save costs.
The customer in focus
The projects implemented so far speak for the success of the association: a common homepage as well as management software and a common newsletter.
In addition, the program booklet is now being designed collectively for the second time.
“This means we are becoming more customer-friendly step by step.
After all, we work for our participants and course instructors,” explains Christian Winklmeier, managing director of the Bruck Adult Education Center.
Further projects are already being planned.
Internal communication will soon be put to the test; Barbara Steil, managing director of vhs Maisach, Gabriele Pöller, head of vhs Mammendorf and the managing director of vhs Fürstenfeldbruck are sure that more can be achieved here too.
In addition, marketing is to be further expanded.
Lifelong learning
“Educated” is the motto of the program for spring/summer 2024 and invites you on an exciting journey of learning and discovery.
Further training in particular is an important aspect of adult education centers, because regardless of whether they are children, young adults or seniors - the program is designed to offer everyone the opportunity to find out about different topics, intensify skills or get to know new interests.
“It’s about lifelong learning.
The vhs is a good partner for continuing your education and not sticking to old patterns,” emphasizes the managing director of vhs Fürstenfeldbruck.
Accordingly, those interested will find courses in the health sector such as yoga, meditation or Pilates again this semester.
But when it comes to languages, for example English can be intensively studied or basic knowledge of the Italian language can be learned.
Special focus
The topic of “consumer education” is a particular focus of the approximately 750 courses offered.
The vhs association has been recognized as a consumer support center by the Bavarian Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection since September 2023.
The association therefore offers events funded by the State Ministry for this subject area at low fees.
The specially certified course instructors offer events in the areas of finance, insurance, digital and sustainable consumption.
“We want to make people ready for all developments,” says Winklmeier.
The 19 courses cover, among other things, banking, insurance, pension provision and artificial intelligence.
The additional subject area serves to impart skills that can be important throughout life.
In addition, adult education centers always have to keep up with the times.
“Of course we have to constantly renew ourselves,” Winklmeier also knows.
