In Isère, “the man with the scooter” is causing trouble.
The Grenoble public prosecutor's office indicated this Tuesday that it was actively looking for an individual suspected of several acts of violence, sexual assault or rape against nine young women in recent weeks in the Grenoble area, confirming information from Dauphiné Libéré .
When did the facts take place?
The man is suspected of three rapes, two sexual assaults and four acts of violence committed in recent weeks, between January 22 and March 16, Grenoble prosecutor Éric Vaillant said on Tuesday.
The reported events took place in the city center of Grenoble, as well as in the urban area: in Saint-Martin-d'Hères and Saint-Martin-le-Vinoux.
Each time, the victims are young women aged 20 to 27.
Has a method of operation been identified?
The attacker would intervene alone, in the evening or at night, when the victims return home.
He is dressed in black and travels through the streets of the city on a black scooter.
“He spots his victims and follows them before attacking them,” according to the same source.
An attack allegedly took place a few days ago in Grenoble, rue Jean Prévost.
According to information from Dauphiné Librée, confirmed by Le Parisien, the individual attacked a woman by following her into the entrance to her building, before grabbing her by the hair.
A neighbor, who came out of his house after hearing screams, allowed the suspect to escape.
For the moment, however, the link between this case and the wanted man has not been established.
What is the suspect’s description?
Investigators are looking for a 20-year-old man, European, without accent, around 1m70 and of normal build or slightly plump (overweight), brown eyes, pale complexion and rather red hair.
An anxiety-provoking situation for many Grenoble residents, while calls for vigilance have multiplied in recent days on social networks, such as on the “Grenoblois” account, which alerted on Sunday of an “attacker on the prowl”.
