Gardaland, Italy's largest theme park, is preparing a surprise: a new attraction awaits visitors this summer. The first details have leaked.
Castelnuovo del Garda – Lake Garda offers many places that invite you to linger. Whether relaxing on one of the beaches, a trip to the picturesque coastal town of Malcesine or a sporty holiday including mountain biking and kite surfing. Italy's largest lake is not an insider tip, but it is not without reason that it is one of the most popular destinations for many Germans. Another highlight that attracts millions of tourists every year: the “Gardaland” theme park. A new attraction awaits visitors there next summer.
Gardaland: Italy's largest theme park on Lake Garda is building a new attraction
Gardaland is not only the oldest but also the largest theme park in Italy. The Gardaland Resort also always makes it to the top of the list in European rankings. The area covers approximately 33 hectares and attracts around 2.92 million visitors annually. The attractions range from the Legoland water park to the Sea Life Aquarium to various shows and various rides. If you want to explore the theme park over several days, you can stay in one of the three hotels.
From summer 2024, fans of amusement parks on Lake Garda can look forward to a new attraction. As the park itself reports, the “Drop & Twist Tower” is currently under construction and is scheduled to go into operation in June. Three semi-trailers delivered the 22-tonne parts for the latest ride to Lake Garda. Once the purple tower is up, 16 people can sit. The Gardaland Resort itself describes the drop tower as a “real thrill”. A new attraction also awaits visitors in Heide Park in northern Germany.
New attraction on Lake Garda for vacationers in Italy: This is what visitors can expect
According to Gardaland, visitors to the new attraction in Italy can expect “extraordinary lighting effects” as well as the “sounds of a ritual chant”. If you want to sit on the ride in the municipality of Castelnuovo del Garda on Lake Garda, you should probably have a head for heights: At the highest point of the tower at 25 meters, passengers fall through clouds of smoke. In addition, the 16 people in the “Drop & Twist Tower” are driven up and down several times and rotated in the process.
For a long time it was not clear what the new attraction would be called and what exactly visitors would expect - but there were always hints until the secret was finally revealed. It was previously announced that the new attraction on Italy's Lake Garda will replace the Sequoia Magic Loop roller coaster. This has been closed several times in recent years. If you're not a fan of amusement parks, you can also go to many other beautiful vacation spots in Italy.
