In the midst of a wave of layoffs in the state sector, the general secretary of ATE Capital,
Daniel Catalano
, denounced that the government of
Javier Milei
fired more than 10 thousand employees in the last hours and questioned that
"they cannot demonstrate that they are saying goodbye to gnocchi".
"We have
a little more than 10 thousand layoffs.
It is very likely that what Milei said about the 15,000 layoffs may be like that. Maybe
a little more or less
. Unfortunately we are at that number with colleagues who have been there for more than 20 years.
No We found criteria to be able to fire
," Catalano emphasized.
Days after the national Executive revealed that the casualties would be between 10 and 15 thousand workers in a first stage, which ends on March 31, the general secretary of ATE Capital assured that "there is
no
way they can prove that they are attacking to the gnocchi from La Cámpora".
"That is a fantastic story that they construct to try to
demonize the public employee
and the truth is that it causes a lot of anger. We have a lot of love for what we do, regardless of our ideological matrix. We share tasks every day with colleagues
who also voted for Milei and they are throwing them to hell,"
he stressed.
Along these lines, Catalano considered that the Government cannot "say that they are carrying out an ideological cleansing", although he maintained that this "would be an aberration and an barbarity."
