Losing weight is annoying and often difficult. Researchers in the USA recently discovered the power of a German superfood to help you lose weight.
Stralsund - Sea buckthorn is a real all-rounder. The fruit has long been popular in Germany because of its health benefits. It grows on the North or Baltic Sea and is also known as the “lemon of the north”. In this country, the fruit is already used in teas and skin creams.

Hype about stomach-relieving fruit in the USA: Sea buckthorn reduces the circumference of the stomach
The effectiveness that sea buckthorn can have for weight loss has created a real hype in North America. Biochemist Renan Danielski from Memorial University in Newfoundland, who led the study, is convinced. In an interview with the
New York Post
, he explains: “This superfood has the potential to change people’s eating habits.”
The reason for this is that the fruit reduces the activity of the hormone lepin. This hormone signals hunger to the body. The more reduced it is, the smaller the feeling of hunger. This particularly reduces the desire for sweets, caffeine or nicotine.

And indeed: the overweight subjects in the study had a four-centimeter reduction in their waist circumference after taking sea buckthorn oil for four weeks. Vitamin B12, which is contained in sea buckthorn, supports this process.

Other superfoods, such as spirulina or barley grass, can also help you lose weight.
B 12, Vitam C and Vitam E: Sea buckthorn contains important vitamins
But sea buckthorn not only helps you lose weight, it also contains many vitamins that strengthen the immune system and have an anti-inflammatory effect. In addition to B12, it also contains healthy omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamin E and lots of vitamin C.
It is usually not consumed fresh and is instead found in jam, oil, juice or even tea. According to Danielski, sea buckthorn products could soon conquer the North American market. “We can imagine the use of sea buckthorn polyphenols for therapeutic and pharmacological purposes,” says the researcher.
If you want to lose weight effectively, you can't just rely on certain superfoods like sea buckthorn. There are other nutritional tips that can make a visible difference.
