"It's done!"
Alain Tisseuil does not hide his satisfaction. Nor his relief after long years of waiting. The mayor of Arnac-Pompadour, in Corrèze, will soon be able to welcome a casino in his town. And it was far from obvious.
“We worked for seven years for this. In the village, many hoped, but few believed. It even made some local elected officials laugh. They thought I was crazy.”
It must be said that the Corrèze village of 1,100 souls did not meet the criteria required for the installation of a gaming establishment, reserved in particular for seaside, thermal and climatic resorts. Insufficient to slow down the stubborn councilor:
“At the time, the owners of the restaurant which replaced Club Med had asked the President of the Republic, François Hollande, to install a casino in Pompadour. He told them that the law needed to be changed. Today, it’s done.”
It was supported by the parliamentarians of Corrèze and Maine-et-Loire. MP Laetitia Saint-Paul worked enormously, with a transpartisan helping hand from right-wing Corrèze senators
