If Laurent Wauquiez is
“not yet president”
, he is almost a candidate for mayor of Lyon. The visit to Lyon by François-Xavier Bellamy in the presence of Éric Ciotti and Laurent Wauquiez, Wednesday, allowed the executives of the Les Républicains party to dub Pierre Oliver with a view to the nomination for the 2026 municipal elections. Congratulated for his opposition work to the environmentalist executive of Grégory Doucet (EELV), the young leader of the right in the municipal council thus received the support of his party president, after that of Laurent Wauquiez a few weeks ago.
“It is a testimony of affection from those who decide on the investiture
,” calms the person concerned to Le

. Investiture which he will have to obtain in due form, perhaps, at the end of spring. According to our information, the party would like to quickly formalize the candidates in several large cities held by environmentalists. Enough to bring together a family whose personalities were not jostling at the gate in Lyon to take over the town hall.
Bringing together “all the goodwill”
Metropolitan ambitions to access a community with a budget of 4 billion euros and 59 municipalities could, however, arouse other desires. Leaving the question of the ticket formed with Pierre Oliver unresolved. Leader of the right-wing opposition in Greater Lyon, Philippe Cochet, is already calling for

The recent exclusion of Alexandre Vincendet from a Rhone federation now largely held by the protégés of Laurent Wauquiez, does not really go in this direction.
