A fire in a recycling company in Wiedergeltingen triggered a large-scale fire service operation. Property damage amounting to millions was caused.

Wiedergeltingen - When the first fire brigade arrived, the company's hall was already fully ablaze and the flames spread to the roof structure, which had a photovoltaic system on it. There was no fear of the fire spreading to other buildings in the surrounding area, so the emergency services could concentrate on extinguishing the hall.

The first on-site investigations were carried out by a patrol crew from PI Bad Wörishofen with the support of forces from Mindelheim. The Memmingen Criminal Investigation Department took over further investigations, which are now being continued by the Memmingen Criminal Police Inspectorate.
