Currently closed to the public, the popular Val-de-Grâce garden, located in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, will finally open its doors to Parisians and tourists in the first quarter of 2026. This rehabilitation is being carried out as part of the transformation of the army training hospital, closed in the summer of 2016, into a health campus. The City of Paris took advantage of this opportunity to negotiate with the State for access to 16,000 m2 of greenery on the site in question.
This project, led by the mayor of the Fifth, Florence Berthout (Horizons), was presented to residents last Thursday, during a neighborhood council led by Martin Bacot, chief architect of historic monuments. “I am extremely proud that by dint of reminders to municipal and state services, we were able to achieve a project that holds up and which has been applauded by Parisians,” says the city councilor.
