After the wave of online threats to which more than 150 middle and high schools were victims, two men were arrested in Malakoff in Hauts-de-Seine by the police this Thursday, a police source told Le Parisien, confirming information from BFMTV. It is the BRI and the SDPJ of 92 which manage the file. The two arrested are brothers, born in 2005 and 2007, according to BFMTV.
The investigation continues, while videos and messages referring to attacks and bomb threats had been transmitted on the ENT platforms of educational establishments. Several high schools have had to be evacuated for a week for security checks following these malicious acts.
323 threatened identified
On Wednesday March 27, around twenty Parisian middle and high schools were targeted, forcing the police to investigate. In total, 323 threats were recorded in 44 departments and 20 academies, the Ministry of Education said. More than 150 establishments are concerned.
Each time, the process is the same: a malicious message is sent via the digital work space (ENT), a platform for exchanges between teachers, students and parents. The anxiety-provoking comments announce the imminent arrival of a bomb attack. They are sometimes accompanied by a video of beheading.
