An infant who was born at home in Gush Etzion died today (Friday) at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem. Yesterday, a resident of Jerusalem in her 40s went to her doula's house in Gush Etzion, to prepare for a home birth. Following a medical complication during the delivery in the afternoon, MDA forces were called to the scene and performed CPR on the baby for 45 minutes until his pulse was restored.
A medic at the MDA center guided a woman over the phone during her birth 12 years ago. Recently, the daughter celebrated her Bat Mitzvah, and invited the same Moked attendant who delivered her to the event, and there they met for the first time in an emotional encounter. 12 years ago, answered Adi Rosenfeld, then a Moked attendant at Moked 101 of MDA, for the call received at the hotline. On the other side was Shlomi, a Modi'in resident, who had to stop with his wife on the side of the road on the way to the hospital and deliver her himself. Adi guided him, and within minutes their daughter Hila emerged into the world.
