In August, Peter Kloeppel and Ulrike von der Groeben said goodbye after more than 30 years at “RTL Aktuell” – their successors have now been chosen.
Cologne - From summer 2024, a new news era will begin at RTL, because after more than 30 years at “RTL Aktuell”, two of Cologne's most famous faces, chief spokesman Peter Kloeppel (65) and sports presenter Ulrike von der Groeben (66), will say goodbye in August transmitter. RTL announced in a press release on Tuesday morning (March 19) that they wanted to rely on two permanent moderation teams in the future. She then immediately revealed the successors to Peter Kloeppel and Ulrike von der Groeben on “RTL Aktuell”: The new speakers from summer on will be the journalist Roberta Bieling (49) and the journalist Christopher Wittich (40), and Anna Fleischhauer (40) will be supporting the sport. 36) and Andreas von Thien (57).
This means that RTL does not hire anyone from outside, but rather relies on people from its own ranks - a decision that Gerhard Kohlenbach, editor-in-chief of politics, society and sport at RTL News, explains accordingly: “We rely on Roberta Bieling, Christopher Wittich, Anna Fleischhauer and Andreas von Thien We rely on four of our best journalists who have been trusted by RTL viewers for years and are also very popular.”
Inga Leschek, program manager for RTL and RTL+, also seems satisfied with the new appointment: “Especially in the current news situation, reputable information is extremely important in order to provide orientation,” RTL quotes the Austrian native as saying. With Roberta Bieling and Christopher Wittich we have gained “two excellent journalists as news anchors”, who together with the “sports experts Anna Fleischhauer and Andreas von Thien (...) are two perfect teams for us and the viewers :inside”.
Other news programs also make headlines: a “ZDF today” spokeswoman recently presented with fantasy words.
