Two cars crashed into each other in oncoming traffic because a 78-year-old failed to overtake. State road 2070 near Altkirchen had to be completely closed.

- Two injured, 20,000 euros in property damage and a complaint of negligent bodily harm: This is the outcome of a serious accident that occurred on Maundy Thursday around 12.15 p.m. in Sauerlach.
At this time, a 78-year-old from the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district was driving her Mercedes on state road 2070 from Altkirchen towards Sauerlach. There was another car with a trailer in front of her - this team wanted to overtake the 78-year-old, but the maneuver failed. During the overtaking process, the Mercedes driver collided with oncoming traffic: a 75-year-old from the Munich district was driving his Hyundai in the opposite direction. He and his passenger (78) were injured in the collision.
Two people are taken to hospital
Witnesses to the accident alerted the emergency services and the police. The two injured people were taken to hospital by emergency services for further treatment. According to the police, the accident caused total damage of 20,000 euros.
The person who caused the accident was charged with negligent bodily harm. The Munich traffic police recorded the accident on site and are conducting further investigations. During the rescue efforts, the area around the accident site on State Road 2070 had to be closed for one and a half hours. The Altkirchen and Sauerlach fire departments were on duty. mbe
