'Sálvame' is now reinvented as a channel for social networks

2024-04-17T23:28:24.212Z

Highlights: Sálvame will return to live on May 6 through their own channel called Quickie. The channel can be seen on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitch, and X. It will bring back collaborators such as Belén Esteban, Mara Patio, Lydia Lozano, Vctor Sandoval, Chelo Garca Cortes and Kiko Matamoros to sit down and discuss the same team from Netflix. The program will be broadcast from Monday to Friday starting May 6, and it is the first free streaming channel dedicated to current affairs of the heart and television. The first live broadcast will be on Canal Quickie on Monday, May 6, at 8pm local time (9pm ET) and 10pm local (11pm ET). The channel is available for free on the Internet and on mobile devices. The producer of the heart program announces that the next step for her team and collaborators will be in 'streaming' with live broadcasts on a network they call Quickie

First it was a live program, an entire franchise that filled hours of Telecinco and Mediaset programming. It was then converted into a

docureality

on Netflix with six recorded episodes. And now the team and collaborators of

Sálvame

take another step towards the world of social networks and video platforms, where they will return to live from May 6 through their own

streaming

channel that can be seen on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok, Twitch and X.

The option chosen by the production company Fabricantes Studio, the former Tele Factory, is a channel called Quickie, which those responsible define as “the first free,

live

streaming

channel dedicated to current affairs of the heart and television.” That will be the space where, from Monday to Friday, the program

Ni que fuerámos Sálvame

will broadcast , which will bring back collaborators such as Belén Esteban, María Patiño, Lydia Lozano, Víctor Sandoval, Chelo García Cortés and Kiko Matamoros to sit down and discuss, the same team from

Every man for himself!

from Netflix with the absence of Kiko Hernández and Terelu Campos. The latter, like Lozano, is now linked to TVE and has even returned to Telecinco programs pushed by the participation of her sister Carmen Borrego in

Supervivientes

.

June 23 will mark one year since the disappearance of

Sálvame

, after 14 years of broadcast. The new program, the production company announces, will take advantage of this milestone to celebrate the 15th anniversary of this television universe headed by Jorge Javier Vázquez, still linked to Mediaset and current presenter of

Supervivientes

. This time the presenter will be María Patiño, who took the reins of the mother program on several occasions, including in its final broadcasts. David Valldeperas, one of the most recognizable directors and who also took the reins of the adaptation at Netflix, returns to take control. The docuseries was left hanging with a final message that was read by the sad-faced collaborators and was never revealed to the audience. Perhaps it has been their most lasting hook, now that it seems clear that they have not reached their set objectives and there will be no new episodes.

This first contact will, however, be a kind of test: “We are aware of the complexity of transferring a universe and a narrative that was born on TV to a digital environment. For now we will start with a two-month testing period (May and June) and then adjust and return in September once summer is back,” explains Óscar Cornejo, producer and director of Fabricantes, in the press release about Quickie, which takes the name of its speed and which it defines as a “pocket channel”, although they have not yet revealed what other content can be found there.

The live format is, however, something that still resists the big

streaming

platforms , although they are all testing it, especially in the US, where Disney+ even broadcasts the

Dancing with the Stars

contest . The home for

Sálvame

could have been Netflix, but the company has so far only broadcast special events such as a monologue by Chris Rock, the Screen Actors Guild Awards gala, the finale of the

reality show Live is Blind

(which had to delay due to technical problems) or the tennis match between Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz, which did not even appear in the platform's official top 10 of the most watched in Spain that week.
