Le Figaro Bordeaux
Enough to dream of unconditional fans of Indochine, Taylor Swift, Aya Nakamura or Louise Attaque, ready to put their hands in their wallets to see their idols sing, before quickly becoming disillusioned. A fake festival organized on the Pilat dune offered tickets ranging from 315 euros to 950 euros for the three days, promising to see these artists in concert. A purely fictitious event, but which forced the Indochina group to react.
To prevent fans from being fooled, Indochine warned on social networks that
“several fraudulent sites are advertising an Indochina concert in July at the Dune du Pilat with an exorbitant ticket price”
. The pop rock group also specifies that it
“will not do any festivals this summer”
and recalls that
“only the group's official social networks are authorized to confirm or announce Indochina concerts with official ticketing links”
.
A real scam or a “school project”?
This fake musical event, entitled “Les Sableneys”, presents itself on its website as
“one of the best festivals in Europe”
. A platform with a dubious appearance, peppered with spelling mistakes, which invents a story, claiming to be
“a modern festival which takes place every year”
on the dune. A short promotional video to present the festival ends with different logos of partner organizations, including the Ministry of Ecological Transition, Coca-Cola, and... Europe Écologie Les Verts.
Since the announcement of the Indochine group and after several mentions in the media, the festival's Instagram account is now in private mode and specifies that it is a
“fictitious school project account”
. An a posteriori justification which does not remove all doubts. On X, screenshots of the Instagram account show that it previously made absolutely no mention that it was a student project. On the website of this fake festival, no tickets are currently on sale.
