Accompanied by two victims, the police intervened in the building on Sunday evening around 10 p.m. to carry out the findings. On site, they discovered that nine cellars of the building had been “fractured”. According to one of the victims, the cellar doors were forced and broken down. However, some were armored, assures one of the victims of the theft. “They shouldn’t be specialists,” confides one of them. She filed a complaint at the 5th arrondissement police station, but only for the broken door to her cellar, since she did not keep any valuable property there. “I couldn’t even tell you if they took anything,” she admits.

Wine bottles and Japanese artwork

Other residents of the building were not so lucky, and had items they kept preciously stored in their basement stolen. According to a police source, the criminals stole bottles of wine as well as Japanese works of art from one of the cellars. In a second, other bottles of wine were removed.

For now, the individual(s) are still on the run. Several cellar owners filed complaints. The 3rd division of the judicial police was contacted. Images from the building's video surveillance cameras were sent to the police by the condominium trustee, and the investigation is ongoing.
