When something has disappeared and only the word remains, those who chant it are like marabouts promising the return of their loved one by invoking their name. So it is with those who associate ad nauseam the term “sanctuary” with public education:

What the use of the word sanctuary first reveals here is ignorance of its definition and the multiple misinterpretations to which its misuse leads. Sanctuary? “
