He was driving with a foreign license that was not valid in France. An individual, of Algerian nationality and under OQTF, was the subject of what could have remained a routine check in Lormont, near Bordeaux, on Tuesday.
Ordered to stop by the CRS at 4:35 p.m., the driver nevertheless refused to comply and engaged in a chase with the police.
A vain race
Then, seeing that he was unable to shake off the CRS, the individual stopped his vehicle. He then ran away, leaving his car, the mother of his child and their baby who were with him.
In this vain race, the fugitive had dropped his driving license, which allowed him to be identified. He finally went to the police station closest to his home, in Cenon, in the hours that followed.
