Highlights: The total charging points installed at the end of the first quarter recorded a progress of 31.5% compared to 2023. In two years, the number of charging points has doubled, from 27,857 to 54,164 units. Lombardy still prevails (10,158 charging points, +3,497 in the last 12 months), ahead of Piedmont (5,841 points, -1,626 in the 12 months), Rome remains in first place, followed by Milan, Naples, and Turin. On motorways, the charging points stand at 942 units (from 559 in March 2023 and 150 in March 2022), of which 85% are of the fast direct current type and 61% actually exceed 150 kW of power. 40% of motorway service areas are now equipped with charging infrastructure. The capital of Campania confirms itself as the metropolitan city where the infrastructure is advancing most rapidly. The incidence of higher-power infrastructures is also growing, with 34% of the points installed in last year being fast and ultra-fast.

New leap forward in charging stations for electric cars in Italy: the total charging points installed at the end of the first quarter recorded a progress of 31.5% compared to 2023. In particular, from the monitoring of Motus-E it emerges that the charging points have reached 31 March 54,164, marking an increase of 12,991 units in the 12 months and 3,486 units since the beginning of the year.


    In two years, we read in a note, the number of charging points has doubled, from 27,857 to 54,164 units. The top 5 of the Regions with the most charging points sees Lombardy still prevailing (10,158 charging points, +3,497 in the last 12 months), ahead of Piedmont (5,841 points, +1,626 in the 12 months), Veneto (5,167 points, +998 in the 12 months ), Lazio (5,141 points, +1,109 in the last 12 months) and Emilia-Romagna (4,516, +784 units in the last 12 months). As for the Provinces, Rome remains in first place (4,006 points, +893 in the 12 months), followed by Milan (3,246 points, +937 in the 12 months), Naples (2,679 points, +1,201 in the 12 months), Turin (2,429 points, + 564 in the 12 months) and Brescia (1,600 points, +732 in the 12 months).
