Highlights: Pop singer Michelle (52) has announced the end of her career. A talk show appearance has now brought her into a comparatively smaller circle. She achieved a respectable success (8th place) at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001. Her farewell album “Flutlicht” is due. And of course, she will also be seen on various Schlager stages before she retires. The 52-year-old was able to talk about her voluntary retirement and her career on the "Kölner Treff" on WDR. Her interim conclusion: "My life is very exciting, and I'm really, really happy that it was such a huge rollercoaster, where at times I actually felt sick. I think I would just do it exactly the same way again." The age difference shouldn't be an issue, but it always was. There were even nasty threats, but the couple just wanted to enjoy their happiness. Michelle now repeated this in the talk group: "We are happy, and we don't care what everyone else thinks.

“I'm fed up”: A pop star found clear words in the TV talk “Kölner Treff” when it came to reactions to his relationship with a music colleague.

Munich – Michelle (52) leaves the big stage! The pop singer, who achieved a respectable success (8th place) at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001 with “Who Love Lives” and has been big in the business for around 30 years to this day, has announced the end of her career. But before that, her farewell album “Flutlicht” is due. And of course she will also be seen on various Schlager stages before she retires. A talk show appearance has now brought her into a comparatively smaller circle.

Michelle at the “Kölner Treff”: “My life was a huge roller coaster”

Originally, another pop star with whom Michelle had a lot in common was supposed to take a seat at the “Kölner Treff” on WDR. But at short notice there was a change in the guest list - and the 52-year-old was able to talk about her voluntary retirement and her career. Her interim conclusion: “My life is very exciting, and I'm really, really happy that it was such a huge rollercoaster, where at times I actually felt sick. I think I would just do it exactly the same way again.” When asked, she emphasizes: “I would do it again with the knowledge I have today.” In order to be able to deal with situations differently.

It is clear, however, that her private life also became a topic - and presenter Susan Link (47) asked her guest about something that dominated the hit gossip for months: Michelle's relationship with the much younger Eric Philippi (27). The age difference shouldn't be an issue, but it always was. There were even nasty threats, but the couple just wanted to enjoy their happiness. At the turn of the year there were offensive words again. Michelle now repeated this in the talk group. Tenor: We are happy and we don't care what everyone thinks.

Michelle at the “Kölner Treff”: She talks again about love for Schlager colleague Eric Philippi

Michelle's opinion: “People have a tendency to judge and condemn everything, whether good or bad. It doesn't always have to be bad, it can also be good. You judge everything. No matter what it is.” How she evaluates her love for Eric Philippi is clear – and she does it in Cologne in emotional words.

“In the end, what’s important is that I found the person in my life that I got to know on a completely different level. On a level that defines Tanja (real name of the singer, editor's note), which I have never met in a person before. This isn't the 'Ooh, you look good' level. But that's one level: I hugged him and had a feeling that I had never had in my life. That I said in my head: 'Hey, you asshole, I have a feeling I've waited exactly 52 or 51 years, and we promised each other in our last life that we'd see each other here again.'"

It's not the only expletive that Michelle uses to support her statements. She becomes even clearer: “It's just a story that no one can ruin. Everyone has the right to judge, everyone can say what they want. Everyone should also express their opinion. No matter whether it is negative or positive. But I don't care.” There is impressed applause from the studio audience. A clear statement against all the doubters. In another recent interview, Michelle was just as blunt.
