Just under half (46.6%) of Italians declare "high satisfaction with life".
These are the data from the Istat report, which indicates that in 2023 the share of satisfied people, which in 2022 had grown especially among the very young, also increased among 25-34 year olds (48.6%, +3.5 points compared to 2022) . Satisfaction expressed by the population as a whole is stable and at high levels.
A generalized recovery in satisfaction with free time and friendly relationships is confirmed, especially among people aged 60-64.
Positive signs for personal economic satisfaction (shown by a share of 59.4%, +2.4 percentage points) and for work satisfaction (80.0% among employed people, +2.1 percentage points).
The Aspects of Daily Life survey detects satisfaction with citizens' living conditions through a variety of indicators.
Satisfaction with life as a whole, recalls Istat, "is one of the indicators used to evaluate the subjective well-being of individuals. It measures how much individuals feel they are living a life that conforms to expectations beyond momentary contingencies".
