Relay between generations in the square of Genoa for the event promoted by Friday for Future. In fact, grandmother Franca, 88 years old, and her granddaughter Maya, who is 22 years old, met in Piazza De Ferrari. Together they set out in procession.

"It's a battle that unites us all - says grandmother Franca -: we are in the streets for the climate, for the land, for the seas and for the animals. Defending these things should be everyone's priority duty and right. Let's also think to the pollution of mass tourism that we are seeing in the last period, to the pollution of the port. These are battles that have no age".

"The idea of the city we want is that of a city that is sustainable from an environmental and human point of view, has respect for people, for their physical and mental health, and this cannot be separated from the protection of our planet - he says - There are no green spaces and public money is spent on works that will not bring any benefit to the population either economically or in terms of daily well-being. We ask that projects such as the Skymetro, which puts an aquifer at risk, or the regasification plant, be stopped. of Vado, and instead invest in the ecological transition. We must invest in the well-being of citizens and not in cosmetic projects to be seen by tourists such as the Lagaccio cable car which does not bring public transport benefits to the population but only to cruise passengers who can arrive. in Forte Begato without passing through the suburbs. Ours is a generation that sees one in 5 children suffering from anxiety attacks and one in four from depression, and it is problematic for our mental health to have to interface every day with older people who have decided to sacrifice our future for profit."
