According to the Israeli daily
Jerusalem Post
, several explosions were heard on the night of Friday April 19 in the Isfahan region, in central Iran, as well as in the Baghdad region, in Iraq, and in the south of Syria. The Isfahan region is particularly known for being home to the Natanz nuclear facility.
A US official later confirmed to ABC News that Israeli missiles struck a site in Iran, without specifying which one. The Fars press agency, for its part, confirmed several explosions, while indicating that it did not know their origin.
This activity comes at a time when Israel has promised to respond to the missile and drone attack launched last Saturday against its territory, in response to the Israeli strike on the Iranian consulate in Damascus on April 1.
