Two men belonging to the Arab community were shot to death today (Saturday) across the country, in incidents suspected of murder. In the settlement of Solam, a 50-year-old man, a resident of Kfar Kana, was shot dead in an incident suspected to be a conflict between criminals. In Nazareth, a 20-year-old man was found shot to death in his car. The police started investigating the cases. In doing so, 57 Arabs lost their lives since the beginning of the year, of which 49 were shot to death.
Sabahi Sabih, a 50-year-old resident of Kfar Kana, was shot to death today in the Solam settlement. MDA teams arrived at the scene and gave the injured man medical treatment while he was in a critical condition. Sabih was taken to the Emek Hospital in Afula, where he was later pronounced dead.
"The wounded man was lying on the ground in the yard of a house unconscious and suffering from penetrating injuries to his body," said an MDA medic Roy Polkov, "We gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital when he was in critical condition." The police started investigating the case, and now it is suspected that the background to the incident is a conflict between criminals.
Also, during the day, a 20-year-old man was also shot dead in Nazareth. The MDA teams that arrived at the scene of the shooting gave him medical treatment and after resuscitation attempts, they had to pronounce him dead on the spot. MDA paramedic Erez Hiv said that "the wounded man was sitting inside the vehicle unconscious with penetrating injuries. We performed medical tests but he was without a pulse and not breathing And his injury was very severe and we had no choice but to determine his death on the spot."
On behalf of the "Abraham Initiative", it was reported that since the beginning of the year, 57 Arabs have taken their lives in circumstances related to violence and crime. Of these, 55 are Israeli citizens, and two are residents. Of those victims, 49 were shot to death. In the same period last year there were 53 victims.
