The center-left in Puglia is now overwhelmed by investigations, arrests and investigations which, as in a vortex of concentric circles, are becoming increasingly narrower and touching Michele Emiliano. The president of the Puglia Region could be investigated for revealing official secrecy because last April 10 - after learning of the imminent arrest of the commissioner of the regional agency for technology (Arts) and former regional councilor for urban planning, Alfonso Pisicchio - he would have warned him by telling him "resign or I will remove you". It would have been Pisicchio himself who revealed it to the preliminary hearing judge by showing the screenshots of the chat with which the governor would have alerted him to an old investigation that was accelerating.

At this point the prosecutor's office wants to see things clearly and it is likely that they will listen to the governor in the next few days. Pisicchio's reconstruction is supported by the chronology of events. The former councilor, in fact, resigned last April 10th a few hours before the news arrived of his arrest for corruption and bid rigging, together with his brother Enzo. His sudden resignation from Arti would have pushed the investigators to suspect a leak of information and therefore to bring forward the arrest which had initially been scheduled for a few days later. Furthermore, Pisicchio would have added to the magistrates that it would have been a "Roman source" who revealed confidential information to Emiliano about his arrest. And among the questions raised on the matter by many parts of the political world there is precisely this point: who could have given the governor information covered by secrecy? For the senator of Italia Viva and member of the anti-mafia commission, Raffaella Paita, what happened makes a "call of the president" which was already scheduled "in relation to the events linked to the risks of mafia infiltration in the municipality of Bari" even more "urgent". " which the access commission sent by the Interior Ministry is also investigating.

The judicial troubles for the centre-left, in fact, concern both the Municipality of the capital led by Antonio Decaro, shaken by the 130 arrests for political-mafia exchange votes in the 2019 elections; both the regional council with the investigation that led to the resignation of the regional transport councilor, Anita Maurodinoia (formerly Pd), investigated for electoral corruption with her husband Sandro Cataldo who was arrested. The latter is believed to be the creator of a vote-buying system created with the South to Center movement which today announced that it will not take part in any of the next scheduled electoral competitions. In this scenario, the center-right attacks from multiple fronts and, also through the newspapers aligned on its side, asks for a renewal both from the Municipality, for which the vote is in June and where the young Northern League aspirant mayor Fabio Romito is running; both in the Region where he asks for Emiliano's resignation about a year before the end of his second mandate.
