Last night, Ukrainian forces attacked the energy infrastructure that powers Russian military industrial plants: electrical substations and a fuel storage base were hit, according to RBC-Ukraine reports, citing anonymous sources.
According to sources, dozens of Ukrainian drones attacked the Russian regions of Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Tula, Smolensk, Ryazan, Kaluga and Moscow. At least three electricity substations and a fuel storage base were hit, where fires broke out. The sources stressed that it was a joint operation of the intelligence services (SBU), the state security service and the army special forces. The target was the energy infrastructure that powers the Russian military industry facilities.
According to sources from the Main Intelligence Directorate, several facilities of the energy complex in different Russian regions were attacked by kamikaze drones. In particular, a refinery in the Smolensk region and at least two electricity substations in Kaluga and Bryansk were hit by drones.
Eyewitnesses and media sources indicated that the targets were attacked by at least 50 drones. For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry announced this morning that the country's air defense shot down 50 Ukrainian drones overnight over several regions, including Moscow.
