Hapoel Tel Aviv demands that the league manager immediately lose the job of CEO Adli Marcus following his appointment as Maccabi Tel Aviv CEO and also explores the possibility of going to court.
"It is not possible that, while we are dealing with the manager and with Adley, the latter has been negotiating for a position in another team in the league, without the board of directors' advice or chairing them until the last days," the Reds statement said.
"What's more, how anyone expects us to continue working for the next two months with someone who becomes a senior figure in a competing league team in a moment. This appointment, and his continued work for the next few months, is a serious violation and a betrayal of the team's trust and audience."
Hapoel Tel Aviv further clarifies: "As of yesterday, Adli Marcus does not serve as CEO, as far as we are concerned, and he is not allowed to deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv's affairs. We also expect to impose clear limitations on Abdel Marcus with regard to future work with entities before which he acted as CEO, for example, sponsors and the use of information to which he was exposed. Following Hapoel Tel Aviv's appeal, the league manager responded to the request and issued a statement saying, "This morning, League Director Shmuel Frenkel concluded with Deputy Principal Shlomi Perry that he will serve as the CEO until the appointment of the new CEO, while Adli Marcus pledged to help with the overlap process.
