Haching professional Greger on his goal-rich contribution to the end of the second half crisis.

Haching professional Greger on his goal-rich contribution to the end of the second half crisis.

Munich - Red family, blue past - and now the man of the hour with the red and blue. Christoph Greger, 23, who has been in Unterhaching since 2016, made a significant contribution to alleviating the horror of the second half from the perspective of the game association. U-turn initiated in Würzburg, winning goal against Uerdingen - it is going for Greger, who started his goal series in the old year. We met the attacking central defender for an interview.

Mr. Greger. , , or do you want to be called shareholder god?

How come?

Because Manni Schwabl, according to his own information, worried that he would have to take a stand at the shareholders' meeting on another failed start to the second half of the season - until you started the trend reversal with your goal in Würzburg.

(smiles) My goal certainly helped, but we shot it together. It's not like that.

How did it come about that you grabbed the ball at the penalty spot?

It is the case with us that Dodo Stroh-Engel and I are divided - and we decide on the court who feels better. After the dodo didn't play in Würzburg, I had to. , ,

As a resting pole in the team, you are predestined for such tasks.

I know that when I concentrate on myself and the shot, I have good cards. I have a few variants on it, but of course I will not disclose them here. I like doing that - and then I punched him in.

You will probably be at your feet in the club because you made sure of the second victory against Uerdingen. Has the topic of the second half of the season ended?

It has been an issue in recent years, but I don't want my stake too high. Just because I have now taken a penalty and a dust away, I am far from being a club hero.

One or the other WhatsApp congratulations may have been received on your mobile phone.

A lot of people have signed up, but I've never scored in three games in a row. That's why I have no comparison value, which is normal or abnormal.

Three games, three Greger goals. How do you explain your run? After all, you are a central defender.

I was told that it happens more often that players who don't score as often get into a flow. I will also not refuse to continue hitting. It was an absolutely wonderful feeling, especially because it was the only goal of the game for the first time in my career (1-0 against Uerdingen / Red.).

Do you have an offensive past?

At the beginning I played for the lions in youth at the front, but from C youth I was actually a central defender.

Although you are highly praised on all sides, there is surprisingly no U international match in your vita.

That's true. I guess I was just too bad in the youth area (laughs).

Do you feel in the club that a load is falling because the new year has finally started victoriously?

Of course it is the case that we tend to look upwards now. We know we have two victories and it is no longer easy to get into a negative whirlpool. We are also as far as never in all the years. It is clear to everyone what chance we have, so we would be stupid if we did not take advantage of it.

Was it a mental story when things weren't going that well in the previous rounds?

I think it was a chain of reasons. Injured, game cancellations, unfavorable program. Fortunately, we are now broader.

Is it a new quality that Haching now also wins the less good games, see Uerdingen?

Our goal is to score a few goals because we are aware that we are able to score in every game. Nevertheless, Uerdingen is not our goal. We want to take the issue more aggressively.

In the first half of the season, Haching also liked to take a 0: 0 with them.

Definitely not happy. If we went into a game to get 0-0, our president would go crazy. That is not our motto at all. Nevertheless, depending on the course of the game, you have to consider whether you are taking full risk or starting a controlled offensive.

You have been a Hachinger since 2016 and have matured into absolute regularity during this time. Satisfied, how did it go?

If I had known beforehand that it would work like that - I would have signed it immediately. I got more and more time and I also increased my style of play. I think you can see a continuous development there. It fits very well here for me.

What was the reason that you left the lions after ten years?

At that time the club decided on Felix Uduokhai, who like me played the left center-back. It was not foreseeable that he would only stay with the professionals for one year. At 1860 I didn't quite see the perspective anymore, at Haching I immediately felt good. How they plan, what they are responsible for, how they rely on young players - that turned out to be the case, although of course it was a difficult step for me to leave my best friends.

With Mo Heinrich and Alex Fuchs, two of their old 1860 buddies also ended up in Haching.

Right, in the end they followed me again (laughs).

You won't escape the lions either. In the Toto Cup and the first leg of the league, Haching was left behind. Do you reckon with 1860 as a competitor in the ascent battle?

I think you should count on them. You have taken a big step forward recently and also consolidated your results. They have put themselves in a decent position - now you have to see if they can keep up.

You are already looking forward to the third duel in early May. , ,

I haven't dealt so much with it so far, but for me it is certain that we have to win a derby now.

Other topic. You are a trained banker and student of economics. As a financial expert, what do you say about Haching's IPO?

I think it's cool that the club does not incur an unbelievable amount of debt, but takes the equity route and thus involves private individuals. I think we now have the financial means to plan well in the medium term. Now it's up to Manni and our team to make the most of this opportunity.

You yourself have Haching shares in your portfolio. Are you satisfied with the course of the course?

Absolutely. The course is very stable, everything is going according to plan. In principle, you can influence how it works (laughs).

Will the game association's sporting bull market continue?

Little speaks against it. We now have the squad to win every game. And if we are up to the end, none of us will resist climbing. I already have a very strong belief in haching.
