The coming weeks and months will show whether the ASV Dachau of the national soccer league will be preserved. "It is probably the most important winter preparation for my coaching career," says coach Bernhard Ahammer. He has to compensate for three well-known departures, but is confident that he will succeed. "We get five access points for this," said the 37-year-old.
Ahammer has until the start of the point game against Eintracht Freising on March 7th to test things that were not possible during the preliminary round. “After I started here in early October, we were under pressure. It was about building the players from the head, ”explains Ahammer. And further: "In preparation, I have the first chance to test players in other positions."
When the 37-year-old took over from Steven Zepeda at the beginning of October, that was not possible. So far, Ahammer has scored eight points from eight games. If this cut remains, it will be difficult to stay in the league because the relegation places are seven points behind.
The training session last week was promising. There were 25 players in the first unit and 24 players in the second. "The boys came in good shape. They used January to run. That made me happy, ”said Ahammer.
Among them were Dennis Bergmann and Jonas Dworsky, who had often been missing before the winter break. Zvonimir Kulic after his pubic infection as well as Tobias Ertl and Antonio Jara Andreu could also become important after their cruciate ligament tears.
"Toni will still need time. We look at Tobias and we are slowly building up Zvoni, ”says Ahammer. Next are Bergmann and Dworsky. Both met 2-2 in the first friendly against SV Lohhof. “Dennis is a leader and very important to us. He was often injured and thought about quitting. Now he's fit. He wants to step on the gas, ”said Ahammer. In the second half, Hendrik Natzer stood between the posts. The young goalkeeper went through the junior departments of FC Ingolstadt and FC Deisenhofen to boost the competition in the goal.
In the second test against Moosinning (1: 1) Maximilian Bergner met. Michael Kornprobst ran into the storm, also one of the players who could only play a fraction of the games before the winter break. “We have a large squad and full confidence in the boys. That is why we did not add more, ”says Ahammer - despite the departure of Maximilian Kreitmair, Philipp Schmidt and Tomislav Renic. Kreitmair left the ASV in the direction of his home club TSV Jetzendorf, Renic moved back to Eisenach in Thuringia, from where he switched to the ASV before the start of the season.
Ahammer cannot rely on striker Philipp Schmidt in the race to stay in the league either. "Philipp pauses with football. He wants to concentrate fully on his studies. His passport is here, but this season he will no longer appear for us, ”reports Ahammer. Even at Kreitmair, the Dachauer had no chance: “We would have liked to have kept Max, but he expressed the wish to move to Jetzendorf. He lives there and the journey is too long for him, ”says Ahammer.
Although the exits have individual class, the weakening is limited. Renic, who was barely able to train due to his shift work, made nine appearances (three goals). Kreitmair scored once in nine games and was unable to play under Ahammer due to injury. And Schmidt scored just one goal in seven appearances. “If they had been fit, they could have made the difference. But they weren't, ”said Ahammer.
The ASV trainer believes in his team, which has won a lot of self-confidence as the winner with its own indoor master. "We only left the injured outside. Everyone else was allowed to play. And they presented themselves mega, ”said Ahammer, after his team had won every game smoothly. "We want to take this flow with us to the start of the game," says Ahammer.
