Young Israeli chin Gilad Levy began training Tuesday with the senior team of Astudians playing in the first Spanish league (ACB).
For Levi (17, 2.16 m), a graduate of the Hapoel Gilboa youth springs / springs, this is a very significant career progression. For the past year and a half, he is one of the outstanding players of the club's youth team from Madrid and the club's second team playing in the fourth league in Spain.
This season, he averages 9.9 points and 7.1 rebounds in the club's second-team uniform, while at the same time providing some impressive local and international tournaments in which his team participated.
As far as the club is concerned, this is another phase of the progressive chin program and the goal is that next season he will be an integral part of the first team roster coached last month by Javier Zamora, who last season coached the Israeli chin at the Estudiantes II and has been working for the young Spain team in recent years.
As I recall, in an interview with Israel Today last December, Academy of Professional Director Willie Willard said: "Gilead is in the process and we are very pleased with his progress. He has to continue his hard work, develop physically and add mass and weight. He is a very promising player. The moment he starts training with the first team. " This moment has come.
