Barely two years since its inception, and even before one official game, Inter Miami, expected to join MLS, finds itself at the center of a legal battle.

Former England team star David Beckham has been welcomed by Inter Milan, demanding the Italian team whose American counterpart change its name immediately. The reason: According to Seria Uh, the rights to use the "Inter" name in the US are exclusive to her, since she applied for it in 2014.

Inter Milan, which of course wants to benefit from the sale of merchandise in the US market, explains that the name "Inter" belongs to it and only to it, and that it is legally registered as the trademark. The MLS chief's claims that the name "Inter" is popular in Brazilian football and is being used by teams from other countries did not persuade Italian Inter to reiterate its demand.

Now, after years of being used to battles on the field, Beckham, along with his partner Simon Fuller, will have to move to the legal field and fight for the right to use the name "Inter" chosen by the American group as a symbol of multinational to represent it.
