Saalbach-Hinterglemm (dpa) - Just under two weeks after his victory in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Thomas Dreßen also won the descent in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and wrote German ski history.

The 26-year-old was 0.07 seconds faster than Beat Feuz. His Swiss compatriot Mauro Caviezel came third.

Five years after his World Cup debut on this route in Austria, it was the third win of the season for Dreßen and the fifth podium this winter. He was the first German in World Cup history to win two runs in a row. Overall, he achieved five victories in the supreme discipline.
