Hallbergmoos - to the controller, ready, go! The “BFV eFootball League”, the first official eFootball league game in the Free State, starts at the weekend. A total of 36 clubs - from the B-Class to the Regionalliga Bayern - will start in two seasons in the premier season. On 17 game days, the teams fight for points and the championship in the "Everyone against everyone" mode. Also in the Bayernliga Süd: VfB Hallbergmoos with Andreas Kostorz (28).
Mr. Kostorz, which player did you want to have in your team and why? How did you convince everyone?
The squad composition came about without any problems. I asked in the club who would like to participate. So the players came together, I wasn't looking for the strongest FIFA gamers. Ultimately, this new league should be fun. But I still think that we are well positioned with Markus Kratzer and Tim Gebhard.
"We want to win as often as possible"
Do your fear opponents play in the Bayern League?
We don't know the opponents on PlayStation 4 yet. It is therefore difficult to speak of opponents of fear. VfR Garching is the strongest of the name as a regional league “sporty”. Of course we want to win as often as possible.
How many hours a day do you train to represent your club properly?
It's really difficult to exercise. If there is a shortage of time, we will meet once in a while to gamble for an hour or two in the evening and have fun. In my opinion, training cannot be called training, but being together can of course help.
"The" normal "club football comes first"
How much self-discipline is necessary to get eSports and your girlfriend under one roof in addition to your football career?
Of course, the family, the job and the "normal" club football come first. We take the eSports League seriously - but with a lower priority. Scheduling plays an important role. We compete in this league. That means we want to get it right. We have to block Sunday night for this league for the most part. But with the players in the team, this is also feasible in terms of time.
What formations and tactics do you use to get the title?
Since I have or we have thought little. I think we have to get used to this league first. The tactics and formation doesn't play a big role at first. In my view, our players can decide for themselves how they act. Of course we will also give each other tips and suggestions for improvement so that we are successful and constantly improve.
"I haven't scraped a controller yet"
What excites you most about FIFA? And what scenarios threaten league operations?
I don't really have to get really upset about FIFA 20. The game is well programmed and gives us football fans the chance to have fun on the console. It is also clear that there are minor bugs, such as unfortunate duels or blatant goalkeeper mistakes. Ultimately, everyone shouldn't get too involved - it's just a game.
How many controllers have you broken?
So far I have a grip. I have not yet scraped a controller out of frustration. Here I can pull myself together, even with bitter defeats.
If you have a choice, what do you choose? Console or soccer field?
Clearly the real football. I just love this sport too much for that. The console is a treat, by the way, to let off steam and measure yourself against friends.
"The potential is there"
Is the eSport Bayernliga the springboard to inherit the eSport star MoAubameyang?
If our team is successful, it would of course be a fine story. Nevertheless, I think that for us as VfB Hallbergmoos, true football is currently more important. I would not yet call it a stepping stone. The potential of my troop is there, I'm excited.
