Christoph Hüttl competes in the BFV eFootball League. He is an e-athlete and captain of SV Bad Heilbrunn. In the interview, he talks about the fascination of eSports.
To the controllers, get set, go! The “BFV eFootball League”, the first official eFootball league game in the Free State, starts at the weekend. A total of 36 clubs - from the B-Class to the Regionalliga Bayern - will start in two seasons. On 17 game days, the teams fight for points and the championship in the "everyone against everyone" mode. The matchday takes place on Sunday evening at 7 p.m. The clubs can also agree on a different kick-off time using an online tool.

Which player did you really want to have on your team and why? How could you convince each one?
My specs had to join the team. The Kapfhammer Florian, with whom I personally also play a lot privately, and the Specker Benedikt. With us on the team, there are unfortunately not many other people who actively play FIFA.
How many hours a day do you exercise?
We meet once a week. Then we gamble together for four to five hours. I get about 15 hours a week. At the weekend, the Weekend League is usually added, which is very time-consuming and nerve-wracking. At the end of the day, FIFA is just a hobby for me.
Open "Trading" instead of FIFA packs
If you have a choice: what do you choose? Console or soccer field?
I would of course choose the real soccer field. Kicking yourself is much more fun in the end and, unlike gaming on the console, is a team sport.
How much money have you spent so far? Does your club invest in packs?
The club pays nothing. I personally don't spend any money on FIFA either. For me, “trading” in FIFA has priority. I try to buy players cheaply and sell expensive ones. Here I earn my coins and then buy my favorite players. With 500 euros you probably won't even get very far in FIFA. Then it's just a game of chance.
What is the strongest formation and tactic in FIFA 20 for you right now?
For me it's 4-2-2-2. My style of play boils down to the fact that I like to fall behind and then play on the counter. When it comes down to it, I also like to play with the ball to find a quiet game structure.

What excites you most about FIFA and which scenarios threaten league operations?
If my opponents just play for time and get bored to death. Then there is a controller crash. I'm actually not a controller pitcher. If I threw the controller out of rage, my TV would also suffer. The game is not worth it in the end.

Is the eSport Bayernliga the springboard to inherit MoAubameyang?
If someone is up in the league, then they already have a good chance of taking the next step towards a professional career. This tournament has the same conditions for everyone, which makes the competition fair. In the Weekend League, FIFA is unfortunately very "PayToWin" -related. If a player wants to make the breakthrough, he simply has to invest a lot of time and be firmly behind it. This is definitely possible.
