Next act in the remote duel for second place in the table: SpVgg Unterhaching, currently third in the third division, could overtake FC Ingolstadt (playing at home against Uerdingen) with a home win against promoted Viktoria Köln on Saturday.
Unterhaching - The gap is one point. There is no question that the Hachinger are the favorites in the home game against the opponent currently in a relegation zone - even if SpVgg coach Claus Schromm sees it quite differently.

"The opponent has quality despite the place in the table, we will have the necessary respect," says Schromm, recalling the first duel in the preliminary round: "I only have to show the boys a few scenes from the first leg, then the thing with the favorite Done in Cologne. The SpVgg won extremely happily with 2-0, the goals were scored only in the 63rd and 69th by a quick double set by Moritz Heinrich and Sascha Bigalke. It was the first two goals scored by the guests so far, the home side clearly the better team. "We were very happy with the half-time score of 0-0 and ended up with a dirty threesome," recalls Haching's trainer. The Victoria had missed a number of the best opportunities for leadership.
Play badly and still win - however, the SpVgg is now also routine. The great-looking offensive football rarely works anymore, but the SpVgg always succeeds in scoring the decisive goals even in the event of major difficulties. The best example was the 1-0 in the last home game against Uerdingen. A week ago in Rostock, Schromm had registered "an unbelievable number of losses from shooting", but in the end his team was able to equalize and record a 1-1 victory.
The new quality of his team: “We do not struggle if something does not work, but we struggle against it together. We want to maintain this mentality. Mistakes happen, but the team also eliminates them together. "
And ultimately, Haching can rely on the defensive. 25 goals conceded in 23 games remain top in the third division, as are ten zero games. If the SpVgg had won just two more games instead of the ten draws, they would be at least tied with the leaders today.
It is clear that the defensive against Viktoria Köln will also be challenged on Saturday. Because despite the poor table position 17, the guests from the Rhineland offer a curious record: With 41 goals, they are the sixth best offensive in the league and, in routine Albert Bunjaku (36), also have one of the most accurate strikers (with 14 goals currently in third place among the scorer). 51 goals are the worst value of all 20 third division clubs.
