About 36 hours after the news of the harsh punishment, the Manchester City Daily Mail reported on Sunday (Sunday) that the Premier League is exploring the possibility of retrospectively lowering Citizens points. Meaning: Liverpool, who finished second in the 2014/5 season, may win another championship title. Will the Klopp Reds celebrate twice already in March?
Recall that the reigning England champion and one of the world's largest and wealthiest teams has been expelled by UEFA from European factories over the next two years and may face another penalty for a Premier League point reduction from the local association for "flagrant violation" of existing European football laws.
This morning's report also shows that the Premier League's management is investigating the possibility of punishing the City over previous seasons, too, if it is proven that during the period when it violated the Fair Play laws, it did not properly and according to the rules. It was also reported that the period under investigation is from 2012 to 2016, during which the club provided false statements regarding sponsorship income.
