The handball women of the BSC Oberhausen scored again in the relegation battle. Once again, Elisabeth Vincenzi proved to be "life insurance" for the team.
Oberhausen - eleven, ten, ten - that is the goal of Oberhausen's player Elisabeth Vincenzi in the last three games. In the away game against TSV Landsberg, her tenth goal three seconds before the siren gave her team a 24:24 (10:13) draw and thus another point win. "The whole team once again impressed with great morale," said team spokeswoman Alexandra Vincenzi.
In the initial phase, however, “we really had the worm in it,” said Vincenzi. In the sixth minute, the BSC was 1: 5 behind. The Oberhausen defense revealed large gaps that Landsberg regularly used to score. Up until ten minutes before the break, the tense and hectic game played by the Oberhausen women, who repeatedly produced reckless ball losses, continued. "Then the knot gradually burst," said Vincenzi. The defense was more compact and on the offensive the guests acted a little more freely. This reduced the gap on the TSV women to three goals until the break.
BSC Oberhausen: drama in the final phase against Landsberg
Oberhausen came back from the cabin a little sleepy on the floor. Only after 13:18 (38th) did they wake up again. The BSC women then started to catch up. The gates by Simone Schüller, Elisabeth Vincenzi and Christine Lautenbacher brought the guests back in. A dramatic final phase began with Schüller's goal for 20:21 (55th). Landsberg answered the 22:22 equalizer (57th) with a double pack from Regina Weingand with two overpaid goals. A little later, Oberhausen succeeded in connecting. In the supposedly last attack of the TSV women, the guest defense captured the ball again, in return there was a free throw. The BSC women did not do this directly. The ball landed at Elisabeth Vincenzi, who hit it from the left from an acute angle to equalize.
