The one who is also CEO of BeIN Media (BeIN Sport) and president of Qatar Sports Investment is suspected of having granted Jerome Valcke, former FIFA Secretary General dismissed in January 2016, "improper advantages" to obtain the award of sports rights for the 2026 and 2030 World Cups.
A search had taken place in the premises of BeIN Sport in October 2017, as part of this investigation opened by the Swiss justice in March of the same year.
Jérôme Valcke is also indicted in this corruption case "in the context of the allocation of media rights to different FIFA World Cups and FIFA Confederations Cups", according to a press release from the Swiss Attorney General.
