Michael Stöhlich, who had to take a break for four weeks, celebrated his return to the team at Starbulls Rosenheim. Coach John Sicinski initially sent him sporadically alongside Michael Baindl and Andreas Höller in exchange with Kevin Slezak and later on in the fourth game with Simon Heidenreich and Sebastian Stanik on the ice. The position of defender Tobias Draxinger, who was absent due to illness, was taken over by young Benedikt Dietrich, who convinced with a clear performance!

From the start, both teams showed total defensive discipline, so that chances for goals were few and far between. A first dangerous shot by Dominik Daxlberger was the prey of guest keeper Raphael Fössinger, in return Nicolas Sauer failed to Starbulls goalkeeper Andreas Mechel (5th). Daxlberger was also involved in the next dangerous Rosenheim campaigns. First he deflected a shot dangerously, so that Fössinger had great difficulty in preventing the impact, the following margin then missed the Regensburg goal by a few centimeters (11th). After the Regensburg keeper parried heavily against Jake Smith, Daxlberger switched quickly and served the disc perfectly for Matthias Bergmann, who pulled off the blue line and inserted half-way into the left corner for the Rosenheim leadership shortly before the first break (19th).

Right in the beginning of the second stage, after a perfect pass from Michael Baindl, Fröhlich had a great chance to make it 2-0, but the Rosenheim striker was unable to get past the goalkeeper in front of Fössinger. The following Starbulls power play - it was supposed to be the only one this evening - then remained as ineffective as Regensburg's first overpower situation in the first third. Tomas Schwamberger even had the opportunity to equalize in the minority (24th). Instead, the home side struck when the guests were complete again. Josh Mitchell placed from behind the baseline in the slot and Jake Smith tunneled goalkeeper Fössinger from close range - 2-0 (27th). Andreas Höller almost outnumbered the green-whites immediately.

The guests, who have so far repeatedly managed to slow the pace of the Rosenheim game, now had more and more problems to defend themselves against the increasing pressure to attack. Goalkeeper Fössinger had his hands full to prevent further hits from the home side. Halfway through the season, Heidenreich had three chances in a row to make it 3-0, Fröhlich and Josh Mitchell missed the target in front of the empty goal and Daniel Bucheli failed twice on the Regensburg keeper. But the Starbulls could also rely on a strong goalkeeper. Andreas Mechel was only checked sporadically, but then acted confidently and radiated calm and security at all times. Against Schwamberger (33.) and Xaver Tippmann (38.) Mechel prevented the quite possible connection goal of Regensburg.

In the last stage of the game, the home side quickly made everything clear. The strong Daxlberger prevailed in a solo run against three guest players and Smith dusted off easily to 3-0 (42nd). Then Heidenreich faked a shot from Stanik technically perfectly so that the guest keeper had no chance of defense - 4: 0 (48th). Only in the final phase did the guests, who had to do without some important players, have more of the game and forced the deserved goal. After a ricocheted shot by Jakob Weber, Peter Flache dusted from close range to the 4: 1 final score (57.).

The Starbulls Rosenheim will be guests in Füssen on Sunday. The start of the event in Hall 1 of the Federal Performance Center on the Kobelhang is at 6 p.m. From the Starbulls game with the strong climber, who won 5-1 in Lindau on Friday, a live broadcast based on automatic camera control from the provider AI Sportswatch (aisw.tv) will be available at a price of 5 euros.

The Starbulls Rosenheim will play their next home game the following Sunday. The guest at the ROFA stadium (start of the game at 5 p.m.) is Deggendorfer SC, who is tied with the polar bears of Regensburg, and is now two points behind the Starbulls. Leader Memmingen is now only three points ahead of coach John Sicinski's team.
