After moving into the playoffs for the ice hockey league, the TEV Miesbach has reached the next milestone: In the playoffs, the TEV cracks initially have home rights.

Miesbach - It was official on Sunday evening at 8:13 p.m .: On the one hand, the TEV Miesbach will not have to go the inconvenient way into the pre-playoffs. On the other hand, however, at least as important, the Miesbachers will start the quarter-final playoff series in the Miesbach ice rink. In other words: After the 4: 3 home win against Passau, the district townspeople secured home rights in the decisive season phase. "Of course I'm very happy about it," emphasizes TEV coach Peter Kathan. "We needed the points today."

The beginning of the 401 spectators in the Miesbach ice rink didn't really taste like it started. “The start was not so good for us,” says Kathan. “That was when Timon kept us in the game.” Of course, this means Timon Ewert, who, like on Friday in Erding, was given preference over Anian Geratsdorfer in the Miesbacher Kasten. In any case, Ewert had to be highly concentrated from the first bully, because the majority of his people in front were simply not at first.

Less than ten seconds were played when Passau surprised the entire Miesbach back team with a wonderful pass, but TEV goalkeeper Ewert then emerged victorious in the one-on-one duel. And it wasn't supposed to be this one big opportunity in the early stages, but Ewert's box stayed clean. "But then we got back into the game relatively quickly," says Kathan.

Two goals bring Miesbach to Siegerstraße

Strictly speaking: after almost four minutes. For the first time in this game, Kathan sent the overpowering formation on ice and it was promptly successful. Bohumil Slavicek failed with the first Miesbach qualification at the Passau goalkeeper Clemens Ritschel, but his team-mate Dusan Frosch then poked the glass for a happy 1-0 lead in the net. Slavicek was on the spot for a short time and made it 2-0 after just under ten minutes.

These two admittedly lucky lead goals finally gave the TEV cracks the necessary security for wonderful attacking moves in the offensive third. Even more: the game tipped over, the TEV dictated what was going on and there was little to see from the guests who were so aggressive at first. "But then we were too playful, especially in the second third," complains Kathan. "We simply left too many opportunities there." So the district dwellers missed clearing the situation earlier.

Anticipation for playoffs increases in the TEV camp

That should take revenge. Because: The guests from Passau always came back to the game. First, Passau's top newcomer Christoph Gawlik used a bad Miesbach mistake and marked the interim 1: 2 with shorthands. And the 3: 1 by Felix Feuerreiter immediately before the second siren did not lead to a preliminary decision. In the first minute of the final third, Passaus Benedikt Böhm deflected a shot from the blue line to 2: 3 in the goal.

The game remained exciting despite the Miesbach superiority. This also changed Stephan Stiebinger's powerful shot in the corner to 4: 2 little. Although the TEV once again worked out a two-goal lead, Ales Kreuzer ensured a hectic final phase with the repeated goal just three minutes before the end. With the happier end for the TEV Miesbach, who not only gave his fans an important victory in the gearing round, but also ensures great playoff anticipation in the TEV camp.
